Prairie Welcomes PCAAT Dean

December 12, 2005

Prairie is pleased to announce the successful completion of the search to find the first Academic Dean for Prairie College of Applied Arts & Technology (PCAAT).  Candy O’Connor is currently serving as the Executive Assistant for the Vice President of Academics at Trinity Western University in Langley, B.C.

“We are ecstatic to welcome Candy to the position of Dean at Prairie College of Applied Arts & Technology. Not only are we receiving someone with a high level of competency in administrative leadership but someone who also understands and is excited about the mission and vision of this new college in Three Hills,” Jon Ohlhauser, President of Prairie Bible Institute.

“I am thrilled to be joining Prairie and being part of this wonderful new venture.  I believe this practical, innovative new vocational College has much to offer Christian higher education.  PCAAT not only fulfills Prairie’s mission but meets a tremendous need in our local and global society for committed and trained Christian graduates who sense God’s calling in their lives,” Candy O’Connor.

The purpose for Prairie’s new College of Applied Arts & Technology is to enable the Body of Christ to reach the world with the Gospel of Christ by offering strategic vocational programming that is wedded to a Biblical curriculum. The curriculum will provide a sufficient level of Biblical and theological competency that will enable graduates to be engaged in the ministries of a congregation as it serves as a local manifestation of the Church or as it fulfills its calling to the ministry of reconciliation through the administration of the message of the Gospel around the world.

In partnership with Bow Valley College and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, PCAAT is set to launch the delivery of its first set of programs in the areas of Health Care and Early Childhood Care in September 2006.
