Prairie Supports Pakistan Relief
October 25, 2005
Prairie is pleased to announce that the offering raised at their recent Mission Conference is being designated toward the relief effort underway in the region of Pakistan recently devastated by an earthquake. The offering taken at the Mission Conference totaled $4700 and in an expression of God’s blessing to the school, PBI committed to matching these funds making the total raised $9400.
“The magnitude of this disaster is astounding. Our Mission Conference offering is generally designated to cover the costs of the conference. This year we believe God impressed upon us that there were people in Pakistan who were in a greater position of need for this offering than Prairie. We are thrilled to be able to designate these funds to this disaster relief and do it through Samaritan’s Purse because we have full confidence that this relief will be given in the name of Christ,” Dr. Jon Ohlhauser, President of Prairie Bible Institute.
The funds raised will be channeled through Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief and development organization working in Pakistan with local partners and churches to provide temporary shelter, food, and safe water to those affected by the earthquake.
“We are so grateful for the support we have received from Prairie Bible Institute,” said Sean Campbell, Executive Director of Samaritan’s Purse – Canada. “With their support, hundreds of people will receive proper shelter and supplies to last them throughout the winter.”
