Prairie to Host International Speaker

October 7, 2005

Prairie Bible Institute is pleased to host Peter Maiden, International Director for Operation Mobilisation as part of its annual Mission Conference. Maiden will speak on the topic of submission during evening conference sessions on October 13, 14 and 15. Evening session begin at 7:15pm in the Rick Down Athletic Centre in Three Hills, AB.

“We are thrilled that Peter Maiden will be with us as the lead speaker for this year’s conference.  I know our students will be challenged to consider their unique roles in assisting the efforts of reaching the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” Dr. Jon Ohlhauser, President PBI.

Maiden became the International Director for Operation Mobilisation in 2003 when former Founder and Director George Verwer handed over the international leadership of the work of Operation Mobilization to Maiden.  Prior to assuming his role as the International Director, Maiden served as the Associate International Director for Operation Mobilisation for15 years.  Operation Mobilisation is an international mission agency with over 4,000 people serving in more than 100 countries around the world.  OM’s purpose is to motivate and equip people to share God’s love with people all over the world by helping to plant and strengthen churches, especially in areas of the world where Christ is least known.

Joining Peter Maiden for this year’s conference is Frank Fortunato who is the International Music Director for Operation Mobilization.  Fortunato will be working with Prairie students who together will lead conference attendees in worship that will incorporate ethnic music and drama.
