Prairie College of Applied Arts & Technology Nominated for Award
February 16, 2006
Prairie College of Applied Arts & Technology has been listed as a top ten finalist for the R.L. Petersen Award for Non-Profit Innovation (2006). This is the third year for this annual award through which the Bridgeway Foundation honours innovation in the non-profit charitable sector.
"This is very encouraging," stated Prairie President Dr. Jon Ohlhauser. "Whether or not we become the final project chosen for innovation, it is exciting to be recognized to this point. It is another affirmation that our new College of Applied Arts and Technology is being recognized as an idea that is not only fresh but one that will be serving a need within the Christian community.
All of Bridgeway's approved projects from 2005 were eligible for consideration for this award. The pool of potential winners was narrowed from 52 to the top ten. Awards will be announced at a public ceremony at 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 18, 2006, to be held at the University of Waterloo - School of Architecture, Cambridge Campus.
Prairie is a leading Canadian centre of higher education for Christians. We equip students to achieve their life, ministry and career purposes and to fulfill their role within the Body of Christ.
