Off-Campus Life

Find alphabetical information below. Check the links out below for more information. If you have other needs that are not listed, or can’t find what you are looking for, just call your DSD (Director of Student Development) or jot them an email and we will try hard to get you the information you need.
ARC
The Assistive Resource Centre offers Academic, Career, Welness and Counsiling Services.
Blogspot
The primary ways that we communicate with you is in person, phone or email and our off campus blog. Please visit http://www.prairieoc.blogspot.com for the latest blog on events, information and happening for our Off-Campus students.
Counseling
We have a number of staff gifted in various means of counseling (pastoral, life, pre-marriage). If you require counseling, please speak to your DSD who can help refer you to a counselor.
OC Events:
Off-Campus Events are usually held monthly; they range from BBQ’s, Potlucks, Bowling, Movie Nights and Sporting Events. These events are designed to create community and are usually low cost, keeping student budgets in mind. Please keep alert to posters and emails and blog advertising upcoming events.
Good Food Box
In an effort to assist Off-Campus students with low cost food, there is a good food box program established in Three Hills. If you are interested in bulk food please check out: http://threehillsgoodfoodbox.blogspot.com/
Housing Needs
In helping assist students in finding Off-Campus housing please contact Bruce Erickson bruce.erickson@prairie.edu As well please check local papers, bulletin boards and friends for rental listings.
Impact Groups
Impact Groups are Small Groups set aside for building community amongst Off-Campus students. These small groups are considered mandatory for all of our students at Prairie Bible Institute. If you have any questions or concerns regarding small groups, please contact your DSD.
Mentoring
Ironworks is a mentoring program established for Prairie students wishing to be mentored by individual approved by Prairie. There are male and female mentors available for students at no financial obligation. Please direct your inquiries to the Coordinator of Mentoring Ministries at david.atmore@prairie.edu or grab an Ironworks brochure located in the ARC.
Nutrition
Twice a year Off Campus has the privilege of having a nutritionist from the David Thompson Health region here for nutritional seminars. The ARC also has information on healthy eating, food budgets and other tools to aid you in making healthy choices.
Student Development Chapels
Approximately four times a year, we have Student Development Chapels for our Off-Campus Community. These are special chapels designed to highlight information, worship together and hear testimonies. There are always opportunities to serve in the areas of speaking, music and the arts.
Student Family Retreats
Each year opportunity exists for student family spiritual retreats. The retreats are usually held at Salem Acres Bible camp, a short drive out of Three Hills. The purpose is not for marriage or family enrichment but rather spiritual formation.
