Discover After Discover

Discover - After Discover
Future Educational Opportunities
Students who complete Discover will have many options before them. With a full-year of accredited college courses students can either continue on at Prairie in various degrees, or transfer to other institutions. (Ensure that you clarify with the other institution for transferability of Prairie's courses.)
At Prairie, Discover students can:
-Continue on in any degree program.
-Complete the BA in Intercultural Studies degree through two avenues:
1. On-campus track.
2. A unique two-year internship with the Discover program*
Prairie is also home to other exciting programs that you can participate in after your time with Discover. Prairie offers the Cross-Training Program, usually during the third year, which brings students into ethnic church communities in Calgary their first semester, and into an overseas missions internship the next semester. Prairie also offers a TESOL certificate that students can take during the Spring session. Many of Prairie's degree programs, including the Bachelor of Arts in Intercultural Studies offer a year-long internship option, typically during the third year, where students can go anywhere in the world and do an 18 credit internship.
Wherever your future takes you, Discover will shape and equip you on your way there.

*Specialized Discover Internship Track
The Discover program offers a unique internship track where students do their 8-month internship over the two years of their second and third years of college. These students are hired and paid by Discover to work as Intern Staff to assist with the overall program and training within Discover. Interns will lead teams, disciple students, assist with course instruction, manage aspects of the administration and be trained to be a director of intercultural programs. Interns will also continue the language training over these two years, set up and coordinate ministries within Central America and work closely along side of the missionaries and national leaders. This two-year intensive leadership internship is a highly sought after position that only select Discover students receive. Decisions on this internship option are made mid-way through the Discover year. For more information on this internship track contact the Director of Discover
