Arrive at Prairie on Friday, August 17, 2007
Orientation at Prairie August 17-18
Location: Three Hills, Alberta, Canada
Students will arrive and register, pay their student fees, move into the dorms and meet the other students. That evening students and their families are welcome to join an introduction and overview of the program
Parents are invited to stay for supper and the initial orientation session in the evening.

September 3-14
Location: Plains, Montana, USA

September 14 – October 8
Location: The Bay Area, California, USA
- Travel to City Team (www.cityteam.org)
- Ministry in San Jose and Oakland
- Working with recovery center, women's ministries, and youth programs in Home Churches in intercultural communities.
- Cultural Anthropology (AN 211) & Missions Survey (IS 100)
- Course modules integrated and taught on the field
- Ministry and debriefing

- Preparation for field departure (Say goodbye to Explore friends, pack sunscreen, etc.)
- Preparation for Intercultural Ministry (IS 152) throughout Semester 2
January 18 Travel to Guatemala
January 18 – February 8
Location: Antigua, Guatemala
- Spanish Language study in AM (SA 101-401)
- IS 100 and AN 211, some afternoon lectures/ adventures and field trips
- Home stays in Antigua with Spanish families
- Scout Trip to El Salvador
February 8-27 Ministry Time
- Ministries with local leaders in neighboring communities in areas such as education, evangelism and community development
- Work with ministry sites
- Participation in ministry with the Indigenous church and its members in accordance with our goals of empowering the local Christian community.
February 28 – March 11 Guatemala Bible Seminary
Location: Chimaltenango, Guatemala
- Cultural Anthropology (AN 211)
- Missions Survey (IS 100)
- Both courses with guest lecturers such as local missionaries, field trips and ministry integration
- Weekly study group meetings
- Building relationships cross-culturally and developing our language skills.
- GBS chapels (in Spanish) & Discover chapels
March 11-16
Location: Panajachel, Atitlan, Guatemala
- Stay and relax at CAM retreat center, Las Buenas Nuevas in Panajachel overlooking the lake and volcanoes.
- Potential cross-lake travel on beautiful boats to visit different cultural communities in Santiago and San Pedro, and locally in Panajachel
- Steps to Freedom Seminar (TBA)
March 17 – April 2 Practicum in El Salvador
Locations: near San Salvador, El Salvador
Ministry Practicum
- Student-lead ministries in co-ordination with local leaders in practicum ministry sites
- Work in teams to meet needs and support existing ministries, as well as pioneering and creating ministries.
- Ministries such as: kids clubs and women's ministries, building projects, schools painting projects, clean-up projects, teaching English and leading church services.
- Beach trip to the Pacific coast
