Education
Bachelor in Bible, Zion Bible College
MTS, Beeson Divinity School
MA in Old Testament, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary
Ph.D. in Old Testament Studies, Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto
Background
In 1997 Brian left full-time carpentry to pursue God's calling to Bible school. During his time at Zion Bible College, he was involved with a travel team which ministered in drama, music, and summer camps. In 2001 Brian went on to do a MTS at Beeson Divinity School in Alabama, where he had the opportunity to teach his first class. He also received the school's Outstanding Student Award (2003). Feeling the Lord's leading to continue his education, Brian completed an MA in Old Testament at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary (Boston), then began Ph. D. studies in Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto (where he also joined UT’s eight-man rowing team at the novice level). During this time he had numerous opportunities to teach classes and work as an assistant to various professors. He met and married his wife Christine (a transitional deacon in the Anglican Church) while he was at Wycliffe. His most recent teaching experiences include courses at the University of Gambia and Gambia Theological Institute, along with courses for Korean students at Knox College and Cree clergy at Wycliffe. Brian's passion is making the Bible come alive and watching students get excited about the Word of God. His interests include hockey, baseball (go Red Sox!!), carpentry, and eating ice cream and pizza.
