Background
Connie has taught piano for almost 40 years. She was the director of the piano department of a large music academy in the Caribbean and a recording artist at Trans World Radio, Bonaire, for 35 years. She has recorded a record, several cassette tapes, and two CD’s
as well as produced music for hundreds of international radio programs.
During her years at Trans World Radio, Connie toured and performed in concerts with the opera star, Jerome Hines. She has done solo concerts in the Canada, US, Brazil, Caribbean, Japan, and Europe.
Connie has lived in 4 different countries, speaks 3 languages, and has taught under 4 very different music systems.
Involvement at Prairie
During her years in the Caribbean, Connie directed and participated in many large musical productions, an activity which she has continued to pursue since coming to Canada. Her musical activities in the Three Hills area include:
teaching classical piano, and improvising in sacred music, (both traditional, and contemporary style), adjudicating at music festivals, accompanying and performing with the choirs at the Rosebud School of the Arts, performing at many fund raisers, and banquets, and giving concerts in the U.S.A., and occasionally in Canada and she loves playing for ballet lessons. She is frequently a guest artist at Scott’s Parable Book Store. She collects dolls (she has nearly 500 in her collection), antiques, unusual paintings,eagles and owls.
