Involvement at Prairie

Dr. van Vliet lives in Three Hills with his wife Joan. Three other children live in the US where they attend college and work. One son lives and studies in Amsterdam.  Dr. van Vliet serves the Prairie community and the church through teaching, student involvement, committee work, speaking engagements, research and writing. His research interests are focused on the development of theology in the Reformation and post-Reformation period in England, continental Europe and New England. His published work has been translated into Korean and Dutch. Dr. van Vliet has briefly pastored in the Presbyterian Church of Canada, has served as elder in the Baptist Union of Western Canada, and is an ordained elder in the Christian Reformed Church of North America. He holds membership in the Society for Reformation Research, Evangelical Theological Society, and the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada. Dr. van Vliet spent many years as an economist.
