Diploma, Prairie Bible College
Drama Major, University of Saskatchewan
Background
A storyteller by nature, Kathy Covert has travelled the globe using music and drama in a most imaginative fashion. Following studies at Prairie Bible College and the University of Saskatchewan Kathy engaged in professional repertoire theatre. A contract with the U.S government took her to Europe where, for four years she toured and performed for the American military community. As a music and drama specialist she has taught all ages and now enjoys working with PBI college students.
Adjunct to Kathy’s performance and teaching has been a writing ministry. From the Badlands Passion Play to historical dramas commissioned by missions, churches, and schools (Overseas Missionary Fellowship, Sudan Interior Mission, Greater Europe Mission, Vision 2000, Prairie Bible Institute, Millar College of the Bible, the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church) the opportunity to share the gospel through biography has established arts initiatives worldwide.
Kathy continues yearly trips to the United States, Asia, and Europe performing and conducting performance workshops for local youth of all ages! Enabling others to share their stories is an ongoing adventure.
Involvement at Prairie
Kathy has been involved in many drama events major and minor in the Three Hills and Prairie Community. Included in these ventures are plays by homeschoolers, Prairie Bible College’s productions—Conquerors, Sixpence is Not Enough, Hudson Taylor: The Man Who Loved China—and the Three Hills Arts Academy sell-out “When We Came West”. Kathy leads Prairie's Barnabas Players drama team.
