Prairie Increases Shoebox Support by 1000%! December 6, 2006 The President’s Office is pleased to announce that more than 400 boxes have been filled for the Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Shoebox campaign through the combined efforts of Prairie students and staff. This total amount represents a 1000% increase over last year when the Institute total was only 40 boxes. “I am humbled by the effort made by our students and staff to provide more than 400 children with not only a Christmas blessing but an expression of Christ’s love. I know that as each of these boxes is distributed to the children in other parts of the world, Samaritan’s Purse will also ensure that it is communicated to these children that it is because of Christ’s love that they are receiving this present,” Jon Ohlhauser, President of Prairie Bible Institute. As part of the initiative to reach this goal, President Ohlhauser agreed to have the hair on his head shaved if more than 400 boxes were filled. Dr. Ohlhauser’s head was ceremoniously shaved at the student Christmas Banquet on December 2, 2006.
