PRAIRIE HOLDS ATHLETIC AWARDS CEREMONY

The Prairie Pilots hosted their first annual athletics banquet at the Rick Down Athletic Center. Athletes were honored for their contributions not only in athletics, but also for their efforts of the court and field in academics and community work.
Bob Murray, Director of SPORT and Athletics says that the event was an excellent cap to a successful season. " It was nice to showcase our athletes and our athletic programs. We have some of the most talented athletes in Alberta, it was great to recognize them."
The Athletes of the Year were Futsal athlete Brian Meaden and on the women's side two sport athlete (Volleyball and Basketball) Glenna Dorey. The athletes recognized for their academic excellence were Kristie Voth and Eric Scramstad. The community awards known as the "Unsung Hero Award" were given to Philip Henderson and Leanne Laird for their contributions as athletes to the athletics department and also the Prairie community.
