Timeframe and Workload

Students have 6 months to complete a DE course.

A 3-credit course will usually take 80-100 hours to complete. This means it will require around 3.5-5 hours per week for 24 weeks.

Students requiring additional time to complete a course can apply for a maximum of 2 two-month extensions or 1 four-month reinstatement. Extensions and reinstatements begin on the original course due date, not on the date the extension or reinstatement is requested. If a course is not completed by the end of the allowed extension period, re-enrollment will be required. See our Distance Education Financial Information page for extension and reinstatement fees.
